Can anyone tell me what powder Federal uses in the 308 gold metal match 168 BTHP.It looks like IMR 4064 but that is just a guess.
 
Truly there is no 1 powder. Federal as well as all Major ammo companies blend "Canister Grade" powders to achieve the desired burn-rate and pressure for the cartridge they are loading. No to batches of powder have the exact same burn-rate.
That being said 4064 will get you to the same velocity as factory GM168 loads.
