Federal 210M Primers

Why is it so hard to find the F210M primers? Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to locate them? Do you guys have tens of thousands stock piled or have y'all switched so something else? If so, what? CCI BR2?

Thanks,
Ty

My buddy and I ran into the same issue looking for Federal 210M primers. Rarer than hens teeth. We opted for CCI BR2's and have been very happy with them. Seeing as they are in stock pretty much everywhere, they have become my go to for large rifle primers.

It is looking like I'm going to have to go the same route you guys did. Good to know that you've had good luck with them. I do appreciate the input!

I haven't seen Fed. 210m or the regular 210 in over a year. A buddy of mine, who does my chamber jobs uses CCI-br2 in his 300 WSM and does very well. I haven't tried as of yet. So I guess if you can't find any 210m that's what I would use.

210's are available in my area, eastern PA but not 210M in any of the shops I've checked. I've been told that the only difference is in the increased quality control for the 210M's. I don't know this to be fact, it's only what I been told by every gun shop where purchased them. If someone else has more accurate information please share it with us.

Like most I suspect, I like the idea of the "match" primer. However I've used both primers interchangeably without adjusting powder charges. I have not noticed any difference in group size or performance between the two.

CCI Br 2 or CCI LRM work well like most things they cost more today...........

Reading these posts sure makes me happy I bought a case of Tula primers the last time I stocked up. Hopefully I will last as long as my primer supply.

BTW, the Tula's give me lower SD/ES numbers in my .308 than the Fed's with GREAT accuracy.

Go to MidwayUSA and search for Fed 210M...then click on their notify when they're in....and rapidly buy them. I bought 10,000 a few months back and sold half of them. Now recently I had a friend ask where I get mine, and Bruno's had an e-mail alert that said they were available. I ordered another 6000 and sold five boxes. They do come available however you have to be super quick on ordering them. There was a guy on gunbroker.com offering them for a 30% premium, which I don't find very fair. Hope this helps somewhat.

To bad you aren't near Richmond, VA. I have 2 bricks, (one is minus around 30) that I would sell you for what I paid for them, $35 each brick.

I have 1000's on hand. As well as the 205M's.. Stocked up just before the last Obama scare..
In the late '80s, when I "stocked up", what was cheap and readily available to me was WSRs*, of which I still have plenty. What I neglected to consider is that that's not what I mostly shot, which was either Rem or Fed match primers. I've gone through almost all my 210M & 205M primers and am working through my stash of RWS and Rem. Hopefully, I'll find some 210Ms & 205Ms before I need to see how well the WSRs do in a match. Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm not able to shoot every weekend, so it may be a while.

*At the time, I did some tests and determined that WSRs worked well in both my ARs and 9mm handguns. My objective was to have a stash to keep shooting, not to keep shooting in precision matches.

They've been going in and out of stock on Cabelas.com recently. I picked up 2000 a while back and that'll last me a while. What I do is sign up for email notifications from about 15 retailers for ALL the hard to find components that I use, like H4350 and 210M primers.

If you can't find them, though, I've had great luck with CCI BR2 and they're easy to find. I use them for several loads and I keep a few thousand around just in case I run out of 210m. Another great way to find hard to get components (at least here in S Texas) is to check in at EVERY little gun shop you happen to pass. I live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere but there are little gun shops in feed stores and hardware stores in other big towns within driving distance and if I happen to drive to a city I'll always stop in a gun shop or two. Ask whether they have any, don't just look - lots of shops keep the good stuff behind the counter! Lol! Couple weeks ago I stopped at a shop I'd never been to. A real hole in the wall store. I asked and they pulled out some H4350 that I bought. I asked if they. Outdoors let me know the next time they got some. 5 days later they called that they had gotten in 4 more pounds - I bought it over the phone, instantly. Next person I knew going into the city picked it up. Components are like a treasure hunt but be ready to jump then and there!
