Federal 210M Primer question

Could someone please confirm some information for me, can a Federal 210 primer be used instead of a Federal 210M primer?

I was planning on reloading some .308 for the first time and my Nosler reloading book recommends the Fed 210M but I can not find any locally, I did find some Fed 210 but I do not know if using these would cause issues.

Thank you in advance, I'm learning as I go and you have supported me greatly in the past.

Yes, you can use the 210 in place of the 210M. They are the same. The "M" stands for "match". Supposedly, the match grade primers are made on the same machines as the regular ones, just by the employee with the most experience that happens to be working that day. My rifles cannot tell the difference between the two.

Thank you Bluefinger

Sometimes the easier the question, the harder it is to get an answer. (lol...) My goal is to develop a load for 200 yards for a hunting rifle, I know that's a chip shot for most but where I hunt it's hardly needed.

This website is a great resource for those of us new to reloading.

Thanks again Bob,

For that range get you some 125 Ballistic tips and load 46 grs IMR 4895 under them. Best inside 300 yard deer load that I have ever used. The only tracking you will do is tracking them fall straight down dead as a hammer.

Thanks for the tip, do you have any recommendations for Nosler 150 grain Hunting Ballistics tip and/or 150 grain Partitions? (already have some...lol)

You mentioned that shots will be less than 200 yards. If that is the case, the partition will work as well or better than anything else out there. If there is a chance that there may be a "twig" in the way, the partition will be a better choice. I actually use the 170 grain partition round nose that is made for the 30-30 in my .308 because of the short range shots (less than 100 yards) where I deer hunt. 45 grains of R15 works really well with the 150 partition as an accuracy load for me.

Lowell Frie a BR shooter told me a gal watching the primers come out makes them match, based on his tour of the plant.

...............a gal watching the primers come out makes them match.................

With ATK at the helm, the packaging of the day is probably the only difference!
