Fear of exceeding chamber pressure.

I loaded up some more hot loads for tomorrow, all using manufacturer load data but I still worry sometimes. Especially if I make a mistake. But this evening I was thinking, I've experience over pressure with Cor-Bon ammo. A 125g 357 Sig got stuck in my Glock 33 so hard that the ejector ripped a piece off the brass and I had to tap it out of the barrel. Then a Cor-Bon 115g 357 Sig got stuck in my Sig P239, when I tapped it out I saw that the primer was blown out and the base of the case was bulged and deformed, that round did 1420fps 1509.4fps. In both cases the guns weren't damaged, but I sure don't want to do that again.

I've never had any of my hot loads do anything like this. Have you ever pushed the envelope hard enough to see something like this?Cor-Bon 115g 357 Sig.jpg

the bottle neck will cause excessive pressure, gotta be careful, might want to change out barrels where it has support in that area, I'm not a pistol guy just my observation, there are many on here that know tons more than me...anything pistol that I load hot goes into a revolver, I've had the bulge yes with Glock Barrel, but not with my other barrels in GL 19 the glock barrel has a diff rifling looks kinds crowded in there so I use a barrel with plain rifling

No, never. I will get very warm with specific revolvers (Freedom Arms 83's), but with pistols I stick to accuracy first, last, and always.

Are you reading any of the OP's post and replies?
Yes he said it was a Cor-bon round in the photo. He said he had loaded some hot rounds up using the Manufacturers data. Not sure what Manufacturer lists what powder and powder charge they use. But I do know any ammo that blows a primer and bulges a case like that and produces that velocity, I would throw in the trash.. But then I like my eyes and fingers..

COR BON is known for "Toasty " loads.

Stop shooting the ammo. Contact Cor-Bon.
I did contact them with the first problem that I had with the 125g in the Glock, they had me return the 2 boxes that I had purchased and they promptly replaced them with two boxes from a different lot, they paid for all of the shipping costs. The replacements did the same thing so I marked the boxes DANGEROUS - DO NOT SHOOT. The issue with the 115g in the P239 happened months later, I did not contact them about that but I should so I will, I simply marked the boxes so I or someone else does not shoot them. I keep the boxes with the spent casings inside as a reminder and as a good example to show others what over pressure can look like.

To the original post, you loaded up some hot loads, with manufacturers data that have you worried. Are these loads out of a recent loading manual? Is every component exactly as the load data used? Did you work up to the hot loads, or is it just loading a max listed load? Just because a load was safe in a test gun, does not mean that it is safe in yours.
