Favorite Powder for .308 w/150s....

and 22" barrel? R15 looks like it may be a little slow for 150s. Would one of the 4895s work well, or is there soemthing better?

I use RL-15 with 155's and it works pretty well -- although it is a slightly compressed load.

You might give Benchmark a try.

A 46.5 grain charge of Varget is showing 2850 fps from my 24" barrel, with 155 grain Nosler comp bullets. With Sierra 150 grain soft points the same load produces 2870 fps. Excellent accuracy with either!

Forget Varget. Too much difference in burn rate lot to lot. Develop a good load with Varget, run out and buy another bottle and it is like buying a different powder. Go for 46 to 47gr of IMR-4064 with the 150s in a 308.
