Favorite .243 AI load?

Hey all

A few months ago I put me together a nice .243 AI for mainly prairie dog shooting. I already have quite a few .224 bore guns from .221 FB to .220 Swift and I really wanted an "out chonder" rifle (800 yards or so) so this is what I got to play with now.

So, for those of you lucky guys that own one, what is your very most favorite load? Mind you, due to my 1/10" twist I am keeping my bullets below 90 grain. Most likely in the 70 to 87 grain area.

So what has worked for best on average? I have already tried a few and some with fine accuracy, but you know- that does not mean that there is not something better out there, right?

VV-165 with the 87 V-Max or 4831 SC and 88 Bergers in a 12 twist. Try a few of the heavier 95 -105 grain bullets, I think you may find it interesting

Thanks for that. But I did not think that my 1/10" twist will work with a 105 grain bullet. I have not tried them but was under the impression that a 1/8" barrel was more favorable. Perhaps not?

Try a few. If you have a buddy that has some, load up dozen and see if they'll stabilize. I have a friend that uses a 10 twist in his 240 Wea. and he uses 105 A-Maxs in it with excellent results, but you won't know till you try'em.
