FAT Berger Bullets

Hey Folks, I have a question concerning some new Berger 105 VLD Hunting (6mm) that I just got. I have been shooting a Dasher for about a year now and running custom bullets and also Berger Hybrids. I just had a new barrel chambered up specifically for the 105 VLD's due to the fact they seem to be more consistent in dimensions and I am able to get enough of them to go to Phoneoix, in Feb. When I broke open the box to pull measurements I am getting .2441-.244 on the pressure ring and honestly this pressure ring is approximately .100 wide. The barrels land dimension is .2365. I am a little concerned about excessive pressure and the fact that every pressure ring I have ever measured has been .2435 and under. Do I have anything to worry about here? Will I not be able to push these bullets as fast as usual (3050fps) due to excessive pressure with a relatively low powder charge?

Thats a larger dia than ive ever measured on a 105 hyb. Id probally call berger and ask them if thats in their spec. Chances are they will replace the bullets.

I would shoot them and see. I would be more concerned on the freebore diameter being big enough to let the bullets to go into the throat. That can be a problem. I have shot a lot of fat bullets and some lots shot good and some didn't shoot quite as good. I have found more variation in a 210 VLD then that. In the thirty I didn't see much more pressure but I am shooting a Broughton with 5C and they usually don't pressure up as quick. I just found that accuracy wasn't as good on some. The only way to find out is shoot some. I would also contact Berger and see what they say. I would also be concerned on accuracy at distance. If you don't have enough of other bullets I would test them. I definitely would not travel that far for a big match with some component I didn't try. Matt

The barrel is Bartliens 5R, I have all this month to test and tune which I will be starting this weekend with these bullets so that's where the concern came from. I will let Berger know what I've come across and in the meantime shoot'em. I will let y'all know how they do. Thanks for the replies so far.
