Fastest Military Crimp Removal

What's the fastest way to remove the military crimp from 4k pieces of 5.56 brass without spending a ton of money to do it?

I know there are machines that can do it in a couple hours, but I'm not spending $2k to do it. Also want something more effective than the phillips head screw driver bit trick.

Thanks!

Lee APP. Hands down. Can also EASILY adjust how much swage the brass needs.

If you purchase an APP, buy the four tube setup. No BS....1K rounds swaged in an hour. INCLUDING loading the tubes when you run out.

And if you happen to already have a case feeder and hook that up, you don't have to feed tubes or handle each piece of brass. Just dump them in and pull the handle as fast as you can.

The old style case prep de-burring tool that looks like a 1950 sci-fy rocket ship has always worked for me. I have a holder for that tool that can be chucked up in a battery operated drill, takes longer to pick the case up and set it back down that it takes to remove the crimp. Leaves a very small chamfer on the edge of the primer pocket that aids in seating primers.

Ive used the Dillon swager and it works good and is consistent. Ive also used a crimp removal reamer for wilson case trimmers, but used it in a drill press. that is quicker but may not be as consistent. plenty good for 223 though. havent tried the lee- ill have to look into it.

I'm sure anything you buy will work but I don't see how a Dillon could be improved on.
I've owned one since the early '90s and have always been well pleased with it.

I have had a Dillon for 10 years. Purchased the Lee APP.

Depriming brass or swaging the crimp added lots of time to our endeavor.

Since buying the Lee APP, 1000 rounds of depriming or swaging is now a LOT less tedious.

I am actually considering depriming straight wall pistol brass prior to cleaning. Bet the "hourly rate" will increase by 10 or 20 percent - four tubes will hold quite a few more cases than 223 or 308 when using the Lee APP.

I've never had anything by Lee that didn't work, glad to hear that does too.

That's what I use but damn, you get arm weary. The most taxing part for me was popping them free. Kinda jarring.

Hoot
I hate that RCBS swage die, popping them free is terribly jarring. What a POS.

The Mighty Armory swage die operates on a similar principle, but cases don't stick at the end. It's very smooth.

I can burn thru brass as fast as the Swager with a hand drill laying down and chucked up with the Hornady primer pocket cutting bit for about $20. And I won't ruin any of the brass the Super Swager used to.
