Fast 6mm with light bullets

How does your fast twist Dasher/6br do with light bullets like the 55 Nosler or 60 Sierra? Thinking about working up a few loads for killing varmints with my 1-8" Dasher. Would love to see some pics of groups.

I hear it will shoot.all depends on bullet construction ,they may come apart from stress.

Consider testing 68 gr bullets as they won't come apart and the lighter ones may.

I was looking for a flat base bullet that I could use at 100 yards. I have been using 105 gr vld's . They seem to group well at 300 and 500 yards but could be better at 100 and 200 yards. I recently tried 68 gr Berger target bullets at 100 and they shot very well. I was using 32 to 35 grains of RE15. At 35 grains I was getting a velocity of 3600fps.

Mike,
I shoot my 6mmbr exclusively @ 100 yds (eyes aren't what they once were). But you may want to give Barts 68 gr Ultra FB's a shot being pushed by 29 gr of VVN133. Those Bergers came in very well also, but the Bart's put together better groups in my rifle. I don't even worry about velocity @ 100 yds, rather how 5 shots group. BTW, I shooting Savage Model 12 br. And save the 105's for long distance shooting, 500 yds+.

I have a zero freebore dasher reamer for building varmint rifles. It will push a 55 nosler 4000 fps in a 26" 8 twist with no problems. Explodes gophers! The little 55 seems to need to be in the rifling to shoot well. It needs a zero freebore. The 60 Sierra has a longer bearing surface and will work with a .060-.080 freebore. Those little bullets with shoot tiny groups.

Alex,
I am shooting a Savage model 12 in 6mmbr. I did a little more testing of the 68gr Berger's today and they shoot better at 100 yards than 105vld's. At 200 yards they are both equal. At 300 and beyond the 105's seem to group better. I haven't played around with seating depth with the 68's yet.
Just jumping them 5 ths for now. I just ordered some Berger 80 and 88gr varmint bullets to try out. As far as powder goes so far I tested Varget, 4064 and Reloader 15 . I haven't seen any VVN133 sold locally.

I have a Hart 8TW, 28 inches, 6BR. it shoots 70 grain BK, 75 Vmax and Cheek 68's well at 100, but i am not doing well at 400 (groundhogs) with them. Anyone else pushing the lighter bullets out an 8TWist at 400-500 well? I can get the 105's to shoot ok at 100, but have not worked on longer ranges (limited target ranges here) and I am concerned about bullet skip with the AMAx so I seldom use it.

any real world experience with the 8tw and 70 grain bullets would be helpful, especially 400-500 yards.
