Farley or SEB?

Which one would you buy and why? I am leaning towards a Farley as I believe they are available immediately while the SEB is a nearly a couple years out. The chrome sure is pretty though...

I looked at the SEB and tried one briefly. At that time, the wait was 10 months. I called Farley the next Monday morning and had the rest on Wednesday. It isn't as pretty as the SEB, but it has helped my F open scores improve. I added Butch Lambert's tension screws which, I believe, helped the smoothness. A friend who has a SEB on order tried my Farley and liked it's smoothness.

For me, the wait on the SEB was just too long.

It's like asking which is better, Ford or Chevy?

I had both, and kept the Farley.
My friend has a SEB and loves it.

They both can be found on the used market.

If you can, try them both, then you'll know.

Here is the update. I ordered a Farley along with a varmint and hunter size Edgewood bags from Bruno's. As always, Bruno's service was awesome. I talked to many of my friends who have either the SEB or the Farley or have had both. Their comments really came down to the Ford/Chevy type debate.

Availabilty trumps chrome on everything except my Harleys.

I have owned all 3 of these rests and I think the original SEB and Farley GEN2 are pretty close, but the NEO is in a class of it's own!

I have owned the seb neo for over a year, and have used a farley gen2 enough times to form an opinion. This is just IMO, so take it for what it is worth. Several issues are in the neo's favor......1. don't have to switch bags for different width fore-ends; 2. more elevation; 3. noticeably smoother joystick; 4. more stable for heavy rifles due to it's double support columns.

There are other subjective differences, but those 4 are fairly objective reasons to consider. PM me if you have any other questions.

The Farley arrived a few minutes ago. I will open and assemble it as soon as I can sneak out to the shop. After I use the rest for a while, i will borrow a buddies Neo for a side by side comparison. For me, at this point, it came down to availability.

As for chrome, it don't get you home, but if you are gonna be broke down on the side of the road, you might as well look nice! 8)
