Farley Lift Adjustment

A quick mention on adjusting lift assist on these rest, hopefully it helps shooter understand the idea behind correct setting. Almost every Farley I get in has the socket allen screw tighten down completly. When you bottom the screw out, you are putting all that lift spring tension and basiclly binding the internal plate movement. Unless your shooting heavy gun, take the spring out. The joystick movements will feel better. All the tension pressure is aginst the inside of the body, you are not dragging 2 Delrin plug across the lower plate under upward pressure. If you must have the lift assist set the screws as light as posssible. Do not just bottom out the adjustment screws. You will completly change the feel of the rest, and not for the better. Every lower plate I have measured is never completly flat. Tighening the lift screws now you are also increase pressure on the bottom side of the lower plate, all the high spots cause the joystick to have a jerky feel.

What are your thoughts on the left bag ear adjuster striking the vertical piller ? I am trying to find a small thumb screw.

I can make you a custom bolt, that would have finger grooves. At least shorten that bolt to get it away from the post. That a very Farley does it have the "V" on the lower plate. PM me if you are interested. The other option is find a later bag holder.
