I recently picked up a used Coaxial 2 rest and have been reading that replacing the tension screws with the ones from Butch Lambert really slicks up the joystick movement.

Since the rest was used I didn't get any instructions or manual with the rest and was wondering if anything like that came with them, or if someone would be kind enough to give me a brief rundown on what I need to do to replace the screws? I haven't taken the rest apart or anything yet to look at ow it's set up so it may be pretty simple and self explanatory but I figured with a high dollar piece of equipment that it wouldn't be any harm in asking around first.

Also I though I had read that people were putting some form of teflon type tape on I assume the tension plate to help also. Could someone fill me in on that too?

Like I said it may all be pretty intuitive once the rest is taken apart but I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks

Take the 2 existing tension screws out. You do that by loosening the lock nuts and unscrewing the tension screws. To install the new screws coat the delrin buttons with slippery grease, not antisieze. It will give a gritty feel. Evenly tighten the new screws evenly until you have taken up the slack. Set your rifle or a weight on the rest. Vigorously work the joy stick and then evenly adjust the tension. It only has to hold the rifle. I find a lot are too tight and that makes them notchy.
If you want to completely disassemble the rest there are other things that you can do.
