Shot nine all bean fields and cut paths around the fields, average shots about 170 yards, bald eagle absconded with a small this years gh as I left 5 in one field and moved.Jpeg 1,2 look close and see the double. Two more pics in reply section.

Looks like you had a ton of fun. Would be nice to get into some of that kind of shooting but I don't think we have any around S E N C.

You are a "hog master"! I can only dream about those kinds of days of a by gone era around here.

We shot 16 wood chucks last night all in the beans. The neighbor & me with 17 Hummer and 17 WSM. Longest shot was 375 yds. No photos, we were moving, left phone in the truck.

120 so far this year.

16 so far for me. It will be over by the end Mid July, tree lines will be covered by corn, beans to high, what hay field exist, will be covered by strips of corn, wheat, rye, etc. Such is the state of hogging in eastern PA.

Have one "hog zilla" this year, monster class. Took picture on "flip phone" and can only text it, at least that's all the instructions I got with my new phone.

I drove through Williamsport a few weeks ago,I saw over 100 groundhogs in a 20 mile stretch I-180 ,220 along Susquehanna river hay fields and edges pretty country. Last year on 220 1am we almost hit a black bear whose back was higher that the hood of the car easily 500lbs,I know bears as I've killed quite a few just at 400lbs.

There are also a ton of them along the PA turnpike but obviously they are safe from varmint hunters. I heard that Perry County is ripe with them, but I don't have the inclination to drive that far in my current declining physical condition.

I had my day, but I still go out just to be in the fields for a few hours in the evening. Last evening visited a farm I've hunted for over 20 years. The corn was about calf high and with elevation (I shoot off a cross stick sitting on a sportsman's chair, I saw a monster class hog pop up. I could only see it shoulder high at 209 yards. Sent a 50 grain Nosler 50 BT out of my 223 Rem Weatherby Super Varmint Master and heard the classic "thump". Large female. :) ;)

Going to try and get out on Saturday to a bean field.

Were pretty spoiled out in the rock chuck fields of Idaho. I'm at 400 or so this year. A couple of weeks ago we shot 71 on public land in a new spot in six hours! The following morning, we shot 44 on some new private land around a large dairy. The Western cousins (Yellow Bellied Marmots) have some nicer coloring. IMG_E5803.JPGA few doubles this year and a bonified five with one shot last year on babies all lined up at 140 yards!
