Fake Powder/Primer Sites

Just venting I guess, did a regular search around the internet looking for powder and primers tonight. It is such a royal pain to have to migrate your way through all the fraud and fake sites out there. Just a total waste of time and as things get harder to get, there seems to be more and more of them. I’m done.

I was shocked when I started loading 2 years ago to find just the staggering number of scam sites for reloading materials. I can't think of many other areas of commerce that have this issue so egregiously.

Stick to Big name trusted sites and you will be ok.
Totally agree with you as to the pain in the ass part. It sucks
I have been reloading a good while now and for the most part stick to the large places when I buy. I was lucky and stocked up a while back, but I still look. You know the “in stock” words do catch my eye on some of these sights. As soon as they mention PayPal or Zelle only, you know where you stand. I do miss the days of a thousand primers for like $30 though. Guess they are a thing if the past. I saw Natchez had some primers for, I believe it was $95. Guess that’s where we are at these days. I think Midway was $85, but they are out of stock of course.

Druidhillarmory.com is an absolutely awesome place to buy from. I haven’t seen powder or primers there but I’ve bought some much needed brass (450bm and 350 Legend) at the lowest price I could find and lower shipping costs than the big sites. They shipped the same day I placed my order and included a nice target with each shipment. This is now my “first look” site when I need something shooting related.

Our LGS’s have a pretty good selection of powder and one has primers often. Not great prices on the primers, $80 per thousand, but at least they have them. I traded them 5K of small pistol for 4K small rifle and 1k large pistol, we were both happy.

If the mainstream venders that have been in the business for years like Brownell's, Graf's, Midway, Natchez, Powder Valley, etc. are "out of stock," then chances are slim that some "Gee, I've never heard of them before" place will have it "in stock"

Those freaking asshats post on almost every Dillon post on Facebook.... You turn them in and get a response that nothing will be done... So you get bans for a different political view but thieves and scammers can stay...sounds legit...

Which big name sellers are good for primers? I reload large rifle mostly.
PM me if you don't want to disclose publicly.
Thanks in advance!

LR and LP primers are a challenge to find at normal prices. Generally when I'm dying for some I'll go to ammoseek and search for primers there.
You'll pay an extra 30%, but you don't have to get lucky and be at the right website, right time. Otherwise the ideal sites are Midway, Powder Valley, Natchez, Brownells, etc.
