Factroy Barrel 270wsm?

Anyone shooting a Rem 700 factory 270wsm? This is my hunting rifle and I'm surprised at how short the throat is on this barrel. My OAL seating depth is 2.803 with the sierra 140 gameking. This is putting the bearing surface below the Neck/shoulder junction, and the bottom of the boat tail is just at the shoulder/body junction. I'm just wondering if anyone else has such a short throat? I'm surprised at how far I have to seat the bullet into the case. This length is .005 off the lands.

My savage 11 is exactly the same. Very short throat. Not sure why they did this for the cartridge.

Agreed! Seating depth doesn't seem to hurt too much as far as accuracy for a factory deer, and hog rifle. For 300yds it will hold 1 moa. So for deer and hogs that's good enough. However I must say there are many other cartridges out there that hold a lot better accuracy at 300+ and kill deer and Hogs just as dead. Without punshing your shoulder like the 270wsm does.
