Factory lapua 6mm br clone recipe? 90gr

So I got a box of 90 and 105 lapua factory 6mm BR to test out a new bbl. it shoots great and now I want to clone it. The 90 grain stuff was amazing!
Unfortunately I can’t find any VV powder, which I assume the factory lapua is loaded with. I don’t have any lapua Bullets either, I am hoping to find some of the ingredients so I can order up components someday when stuff comes back in stock. Anyone had any success trying to duplicate the factory stuff ?

Factory ammo may or may not be made using powder you can buy. Often, a manufacturer will use powder that does not get sold to the public, or may blend powders to get the burn profile they want. They also have the option to modify burn rates by, for instance, applying a retardant to the kernels to slow down a faster burning lot.

TLDR: You'd be better off simply working up a load with what you've got (or can get) rather than trying to chase what may not be achievable.

I shot those, I wish I had bought all they had when Grizzly cleared out Bullets.com. I called Lapua and asked the same thing. They said the powder was not cannister powder, but is similar to N140.

I really think you would like the Berger 90 vld and AR comp even more.

i also heard somewhere that VV n140 was close to the powder used in the factory stuff.

powder is scarce locally.

I’ll have to look for some 90 vlds, I have a few berger 105 hybrids sitting around.

@handlebar , did you measure your velocity stats for the ammo you liked?

To match your loading process with your fired brass in your bbl, you will need a velocity goal or at least a general velocity range you liked. There are good chances that you can match that factory ammo and then even do better.

I didn’t get a chance to chrono it, I was just zeroing, and the groups were very promising ! I have a few left so I will play with them more. Thanks
