Factory Chambering of 6 PPC

Cooper might still chamber it.
Ruger made some in their m77 and their #1's
Sako made some nice rifles chambered in the 6ppc and the 22ppc.

I’ve always wondered why not ! Just because it is considered a “benchrest” caliber ? Heck i would hunt with it and plan to with a sako. I’m sure it would shoot well enough in a factory rifle without heavy barrel to hunt coyotes on up to deer. I have shot a lot of stuff with a 243

Too much trouble for the general public. You wouldnt believe how much trouble the average guy was having when they bought those rugers and sakos in a “real benchrest” chambering. Most were sold with zero to very few rounds fired. Wildcats are not the best thing to put on the shelf generally. A ppc is very good for what it was made for- loading at the range and punching paper. I cant imagine a ppc would be the best or even in the top 50 choices for a field rifle for any game.

Can a person buy straight factory 6 ppc brass?

I looked at all the advertisers with banners up on the top of this board no one had any in stock.

Do you know where any is at?
Australia ... :)o_O Beretta Australia started to bring Sako cartridges and some components two or three years ago. We pay around AUD$140/100. They also released a line of Tikka ammunition made by Sako, but 6mmPPC isnt included in that.

Cheers...

No, google treats me like a red headed step child.

But I did sign up, so everyone can notify me when it's back in stock.

Euro optic said they had it until you click on the actual part, false alarm. Sorry guys.

To get back to original question, no I do not believe they are mass produced by any one company.

If you are interested, you can find once in a while the Sako USA version, but it is important not to confuse it with the non USA version which there are so many now. Can not really categorize them outside of no turn or tight neck. Just so many neck sizes today.

As for cases, the closest that I have found that can be fireformed to either type, is Norma 6ppc brass. I use it in my USA 6ppc and I use the Bruno turned Norma 6ppc cases in my tight neck 6ppc.

I’m sorry, need to correct myself. Lapua makes wonderful 220 Russian cases, which after some pre work is mostly used in the benchrest 6ppc’s, I think most shooters are still leaning towards Lapua, but I mightbe wrong too though.

Norma sells 6ppc brass. One place to look, and give them a phone call is Huntingtons www.huntingtons.com they are in California and usually have a decent supply. For shooting in a factory rifle it works great and provides very good accuracy. JME. WD
