F/TR Shooters: What is Your Favorite Bi-Pod?

Bully

Silver $$ Contributor
Anyone that shoots F/TR, what is your favorite bi-pod?
Please elaborate on "why" it's your favorite.

Gracias.

I've tried Phoenix, Duplin, Sinclair, Joypod. My favorite is the Phoenix so far. Why? Its the most consistent for me. The duplin can't adjustment wouldnt stay tight, the sinclair rocked back and forth, and when I shot them back to back, I shot the Phx better than the joypod.

I want to try a Flexpod still, and possibly the MPod. Use of either of these would allow me to go heavier than Heavy Palma on my barrel.

Flex pod. I've tried them all except the joy pod and watching people shoot them, I have no desire to try one.

For what it's worth, this topic has been beat to death several times. Do a search, probably days worth of reading.

Harris. All my rifles have Harris bi-pods, even my F-Open cartridges. I just can't bring myself to game it. F-Class is practice for other uses of the rifle. I've shot hundreds of deer and varmints off of Harris bi-pods, why should the 10 ring be any different?

They've all been used by the best, to win the biggest matches. Comes down to user preference and sometimes weight. I would try to get behind a few different options at a match and see which one YOU like best. This sport is more of a mental game than I think most realize, so whatever fits you best and gives you the warm and fuzzies is the best one for you.

I like the Duplin because it is only 17 oz, rock solid, easy to adjust and can go as low as needed. The Phoenix looks good too, but it is quite a bit heavier and cannot go as low.

I do agree that the cant adjustment has caused people problems, but once you get the lock washers correctly oriented, that problem goes away.

This is the truth and great advice.

I've used Sinclair, Center Shot, Duplin, Mystic and Joypod in competition.

My main for the last couple of yrs is the Joypod. My backup is a Duplin. The weights are so close as to be identical.

Phoenix is pretty awesome, but needs some mods (lower the height) for me. M-Pod is less expensive and rock solid and very light... but not much for 'fine' adjustment. Talon with the ski feet is about as light as they come, with *very* fine adjustment - so fine it takes a little while to make big adjustments when setting up on a new firing point.

Currently using the Talon as primary, with the M-Pod as backup.

If you want to shoot a bipod that is pre-loaded, the Long Range Accuracy bipod is my choice. It's basically like a Harris or Atlas style bipod with a much wider footprint. Weight is ~1.4 to 1.5 lb. I believe that Accushot (Atlas) now also makes a pre-loaded bipod with a wide footprint, but have no direct experience with it.

Joypod for me. Have run a remple before. Its stable as hell but very heavy. Have yet to try the Phoenix F/TR and I want too but will need to lose weight in rifle to do so. She's already built light to handle big barrel.

Joy Pod and Tier-One Carbon fiber are my main bipod's and a Mpod if I need to save weight. I like the Joy Pod for making wind calls very easy with it. The Tier-One very easy to set up and adjust for vertical and stable.
