F-TR Barrel Diameter Question

There is 31” Krieger for sale on here that is 1.450 straight. Anyone running that heavy of a barrel in F-TR without having weight issues?

That would be tough to make weight in open

I was looking for it and couldn’t find a weight. Way too heavy then.

About the heaviest barrel contour commonly found on an F-TR rifle would be a Heavy Varmint, usually with a finish length of no more than 30-31". Straight taper barrels are rare in F-TR. If someone prefers a relatively heavy bipod, scope, or stock, they might go with a 30" Heavy or Medium Palma in order to save some weight in the barrel.

Good Day

We have found the max usable weight for FTR rifles are 7lbs. You can pick which ever profile and length to arrive at 7lb.

The others components are known (or so similar in weight between markers) action, scope, stock.

The biggest variable in weight besides the barrel is the bipod. You can run a 30oz 1st gen EVO to a 19oz Seb or duplin.

Your bipod choice with determine you barrel weight.
