F T/R type bipod

So I have a chassis coming for a 6br, and I want to throw a bipod on it and use a rear bag.

Might use it to hunt out of a raised blind as well. The blind has cut outs all along the bottom so you can shoot prone. Already have an atlas bipod. Kinda want something beefier and that will slide, if given the proper surface.

I also don't want to spend a fortune

Thanks fellas

Shop around a bit - but you will likely find that an FTR bipod will not suit your hunting needs, due to width. Get one for F-class - whichever - I like the JoyPod - and use the Atlas for hunting. I shoot my 6BR with my JoyPod in open class, due to the stock not being suitable for a rest. - but there are bag riders from Urban Rifleman that you could fit to your chassis and use a rest instead. You will find that even a Caldwell Rock BR rest would be steadier than a bipod for less money.

Good info. I actually already have the pic rail attachment from him. I use it on all my ARs. I have a bald eagle rest, but I just didn't want to lug it around. Figured that maybe a wider platform bipod would be a good solution for something in-between an atlas and the bald eagle

I get that. I do have my original home made bipod, that I have used for a varmint shoot with my 223. FTR rifle. Or course I made the rookie error of using all thread for elevation, that took a dog's age to raise and lower. Recently "converted" a Chinese Harris clone with some carbon fibre legs to use a BSA 222 for small critters.

You could consider the Sinclair Fclass bipod. They cost about half of what a Joypod or Phoenix bipod would cost. It is a ski type bipod with wide feet and would do for hunting.

I've sold most all my bipods except just a couple Harris for hunting and bought EGW mystics. They are rock solid and have performed great. Price is good to. Only downside is you have to have the T-Rail/anschutz rail on your rifle or add a section.

For hunting I prefer a Harris, as it is easily adjustable for variable terrain and conditions. A Fclass bipod is a specialized beast, and much slower to setup and adjust.

I would maybe post here on AS a WTB for a Phoenix Precision bipod and try to get one for $400 or so. Light and very steady.
