F-T/R Bags - On the stitches or on the ears?

Gents,

After my last match I decided to change a few things up. I'm currently shooting both Open and T/R classes off a Phoenix bipod/rear bag. (I'm going to dedicate to just shooing TR once my build is complete).

I've been shooting a 'hunting' style Protektor 13B, but figure I'd see better results with something a little more purpose built.

The bag I'm migrating to is a Protektor Dr. rear (mid-ears w/ heavy fill, angled, .750 spacing), and I'll be shooting MCM A5 and A6 stocks off of it, and eventually an XIT.

Just test fitting the A5/A6 in my office, it seems to let the bottom toe of the stock ride the stitches of the bag vs. up in the ears. Is this how most TR guys run their rear bags? I admittedly never paid that much attention to what others were doing in this regard.

Thanks in advance!

You want it on the stitches. But you want the spacing of the ears to be the same as the bottom of your stock.

Really the best thing to do is contact Tom at Protektor. Tell him what your have and what your trying to accomplish and he will set you up. I just ordered a custom height bag, received it in less than a week and proceeded to shoot my highest score ever in FTR.

I appreciate the advise, but unfortunately I've already got the bag in hand. If it's supposed to ride the stitches, then I think I'm good.

I thought this thread was going to be about those big puffy things that show up under your eyes from lack of sleep when you're staying in a hotel at a big match, in contention and worried about winning the next day. I recommend halved cucumber slices for those ;).
