F-Class shooters; How much resistance to move rifle?

I have been shooting F-TR for two years now. I shoot a .308 Win, Rem 700 action in an XLR Evolution chassis with the extreme buttstock which has sand bag rail on the bottom.

I just received my JoyPod that has been on order for awhile, a beautiful piece of equipment. I use a Protekor rear bag and a carpet sample as for the bipod to ride on.

After installing the Joypod, I set up my rifle on the floor just like I would on the line. I used my trigger pull gauge to measure the force to move the rifle back to simulate the resistance of the setup to the recoil. The measurement came out to 7 lbs. I then added some Stock Tape I purchased from Brownell's to the stocks sand bag bar and performed the test again. The tape reduced the friction to 6 lbs.

So I am wondering, what if other F-TR and F-Open shooters have measured the friction to move the rifle in their setups and what kind of resistance they are experiencing.

Thanks for your responses.

I use the Element with extreme buttstock, joypod, and similar rear bag. Just get it centered with the JP stick zero'd and ensure the rear bag/buttstock is firmly in place and start winning. :D

I haven't measured friction, but depending on the surface, I'll use a board under the JP to ensure it is tacking level. Some matches (Port Malabar) have astro turf and I just lay right on that with nothing under the JP because it tracks perfectly without anything.

I’ve never measured, but I would not be surprised if my setup turned out to be 6-8 pounds. I don’t think it matters. The bullet it gone before your eye can even blink. It does help to have it move smoothly just to make adjustments easier.

I have never measured this, but i made a change to a rear bag with the silver slick material between the ears. I feel this has helped. I also made a change to the bald eagle front bag. This is made from a type of nylon and the mcmillan stock slides very nicely on this material. I am very happy with the change in front and rear bags.
