"F" Class rules, question

I read the rules for "F" class, and I see there is no rule concerning muzzle brakes. Yet, someone told me they were not allowed. Does anyone know for sure they are or are not, and the rule it comes under? Thanks.

The NRA rules don't say they are illegal. However a lot of ranges, or clubs don't allow them, because of the fact that they aren't very friendly to the guy shooting next to you. So you would have to check with the rules of the club or Range you are shooting at. Where I shoot F/open and FTR. No suppressors or muzzle breaks are allowed.

You might find the NRA rule in the Highpower section. Both section apply to Fclass. Muzzlebreaks and suppresors are against NRA rules.

280man,
Thanks for correcting me. I haven't read the rules thoroughly. I guess I was banking on the Op doing that for me. Where I shoot they are not allowed so... I guess I just didn't pay very close attention to that. At least I learned something today. I need to remember that Highpower applies to F/class!
Thanks
Mark

F-class is a take-off of High Power Rifle....therefore all rules of High Power must be followed...unless... it has been changed for F-class...rules section 22...so if muzzlebreaks are not covered in f-class rules... one has to check the high power rules to make sure they are legal...Sorry... but muzzlebreaks are illegal for f-class...rule 3.16.1 under NRA High Power Rules. Check it out under NRA site...hope this helps out.

It does very much so!! I need to pay as much attention to the rules of my Discipline as I do my loading and shooting! Thanks! As well Thanks to to the OP for asking this question!! I've been legal so far, but there will come a day when I need to know off the top of my head exactly what the rules are! Again Thanks!!
