F Class repair targets

I'd like to open a can of worms again.
What's the deal that we are not seeing a true 600yd. F Class repair center for purchase?
This is getting to be a real pain in the back side at approved and registered matches.
We have seen cut-down centers at other matches. A lot of work for the match director and a waste of money to buy the large targets to cut down.

On the one hand, yes, I absolutely agree. Screwing around with a 3' x 3' piece of paper goobered up with wall-paper paste to repair essentially a 12" area (9 ring and in) is an un-necessary PITA.

On the other hand... having had to re-face the entire target using four-piece full-face MR-1 targets, and finding that between the bleed/stretch of the individual pieces *before* I even get the glue anywhere near them, much less once they are nice and damp, it's pretty much impossible to get *all* the lines to match up. About the best I can manage is to get the outer ones lined up, then immediately apply a new repair center to tidy things up.

So yes, unfortunately, I do see a use case for the 37"x37" repair centers. I'd be okay with leaving the MR-1C that size, and shrinking the MR-1FC to 18"x18", though.

So it isn't just me that can't find these targets anywhere...

Do the ones from this Jonathan James in the middle of nowhere have the NRA approved stamp on them?

Does he take credit card for payment?

Thanks George

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say 'No', not if they aren't regulation size. The NRA stamp is way out in the corner, in the white, IIRC.

Before the club went to electronic targets, we just staple the repair targets onto the board.
For the electronics, we paste repairs on before each match. We also have everyone adjust their scope to 1 MOA up so that the F-Class shooters don't shoot out the center.

Just a head's up, he lives out in the middle of nowhere. But leave a message and he will get back with you.

Robert

Thanks for the info, Sounds like this person may be the one and only source for these small / handy centers.
We only use them in weekly practices to save full targets and target paste so I'm not concerned if no NRA stamp.

I'm in SouthEastern New Hampshire that can also me considered the "middle of nowhere" by some so I don't know how far away I am from him... :)

Can you or anyone else that has bought from him tell me what the pricing is and what forms of payment he takes.?.

I wish they would approve the adhesive rectangular repair centers that we use in all non-registered matches. Sure makes things easy and fast.

Can you direct me to the source for these adhesive backed centers you are talking about?

Tks, George

What's it gonna take to get the NRA to approve and get printed a normal (mid 8 ring and in) repair target.
Get someone at the NRA to give a crap about anything other then taking money from F-Class shooters. I have a long email string and many phone calls over the last 4 years, but have not gotten even a minimal level of care. I understand that those I dealt with are no longer there and I'm no longer a match director so I haven't talked to the new people. I actually had one of them tell me in an email 'but we do have 26"X26" centers for 1,000 yards'. I asked in response if the NRA thought most shooters shoot worse at 600 or what. The NRA is great for looking after shooters and gun owners legal interests, but it has been my experience that they don't care much about competitions other then how they can use them as a revenue source.

GSS, see Immike's post above for Johnathan's phone number for the adhesive backed targets. And no, he does not take credit cards, but he has sent them to me with a bill to send back with a check.
