F-Class Question

Lapua40X

Looking into F-Class and have seen/heard some mention of a rapid fire component to that competition.
I can't find anything in the NRA rules to support that and, seeing as how I'm old and uninterested
in rapid fire competition, wondering if there's any merit to the rapid fire claim.
Any of you F-Class shooters who can clear that up for me?
Thanks ................

No rapid fire that I've ever experienced or heard of.

Maybe people talking about shooting as fast as they can, but you still have to wait for the target to be pulled and marked.

^^^^^ with the addition of "single feed / single load"...

All F-class is single round load, slow fire. Typically most matches allow one minute per shot. 2 sighters, 20 shot for record in 22 minutes or 2 sighters and 15 shots for record in 17 minutes. Targets are marked and scored after each shot. That being said, some shooters can literally shoot their 22 shots as fast as the target pullers can present them if conditions are favorable.

F-Class is part of High Power in the NRA rulebook. High Power does have some rapid fire stages but F-class is strictly prone slow fire. Perhaps the information you saw came from someone who melded all the information together?

You might have read about electronic targets which are now very common in some countries. With electronic targets, some shooters are getting there shots down range in 1000yd HG times, if they don't wait for their scorers to call each shot. There is still the same maximum time limit though on electronic targets.
