F Class Nats. Equipment List

To the best of my knowledge they did not do one this year.

Is there something you want to know specifically?

Just wondering what the top dog's were using caliber/case combo. Is the 7mm Rsaum still a biggy
Thanks Bob

The World Individual Long Range Championships being held at the Belmont Range in Brisbane are Target Rifle only, so there is no F Class Shooting. The F Class Individual World Championships and Teams Matches will be held at Raton in 2013. Both are run by ICFRA. (International Confederation of Fullbore Rifle Associations)
Their Web Site is here:- http://icfra.com/\
The WLRIC and Palma Match are held every 4 years. The next one will be in 2015. Same for F Class. Next one in 2013 then 2017 etc.

The previous competition just finished in Brisbane was the NRAA (National Rifle Association of Australia) National Queens Prize Meeting. The Target rifle part of this was run under ICFRA rules and the F Class part was run under the Australian SSR's. (Standard Shooting Rules). Target Rifle and F Class shooters are fully integrated in Australia, shooting on the same targets and and the shooting squads are integrated. F Class in Australia has 2 classes, F Open and F Standard. F Open is very similar to ICFRA F Open and has about 100 shooters in Australia. F Standard has rules quite a bit different to F/TR. There are about 1000-1200 F Standard Shooters in Aussie and nowadays F Standard generally comprises about 25-30% of entries in competitions around Australia.

And here I thought we were talking about The F Class Nats that were just held in Lodi, Wi?????????????????

I would say that the 180 gr 7mm bullet is what the top guys are shooting. You will find a good mix of Magnum and non-magnum calibers on the line. I believe Jim Murphy was shooting a RSAUM.

IMHO the 284's get that bullet up to a sufficient speed and give great accuracy and barrel life. I would stick with that if I were given a choice.

Thanks 280man your feet and mine are on the same dirt. Were there a fair # of non mag 7mm that were competitive? Trying to decide if it is worth a new bolt purchase or just go with the .284 case.
Thanks again Bob

So, were the numbers of short mags increasing over the standard 284/Shehane?
I hear the National next year are at Camp Perry, are there any big events planned for Raton next year?

Both of the F-Class Nationals are in Raton next year. There is another post talking about that.

We are going to be shooting Camp Perry alongside the sling shooters during longrange week and they are hosting The Americas Match which is a 16 man/woman international team match that split between 8 Palma and 8 F-class. Should be a fun time :)

As to 284's being competitive I know of at least 5
Gosnell
Jensen
Bartholome
Ballard
Walker
I'm sure there is more so yes I would say that a 284 is competitive

I think it adds character. (As if you needed any more character.)
