F class build for open class or Ftr savage or 40x

I have a delima ,I have two 40 x rifles and one savage target action,Here is my problem ,I need two identical rifles for f class.I have a low budget of two thousand.I have a nice savage target action rifle I was looking at with a dog tracker stock built by saberco in 7mm saum guys asking 1100.I have another savage target action but would need a stock and barrel in 7 saum to shoot open off a rest.I have two 40 x rifles which I can re barrel to 7saum or 308 I have for them tactical stocks.Is the savage better choice or should I go 40 x actions it seems a less expensive way to go.The reason for two rifles is two shooters but wanted ammo that will fit either rifle and the ability to get back in the game should one fail while on the road.

The savage would actually be better if you have to do it yourself due to the simplicity of changing barrels however you can now do it with a remage nut and barrel system as well as long as the nut doesnt bother you.There has been quite a bit of writing on the remage system which Jim at Northland shooters supply now offers.I would personally go the savage route due to all the after market parts for them and ease of maintenance.

I would go with the 40x's. The reason for me is, I like having a sold bottom receiver for its rigidity also the the trigger system is a better design. But, the savages do perform great. I just believe that the 40x provides a superior platform allowing for more consistency, which is the name of the game.

I do have a savage and think it is great.

Just my 2 cents.

I understand the ease of maintenance but I want accurate and reliable.I did put together my 6.5x284 I do not know if the target action will be more accurate or the 40x will produce better platform.

I think it's illegal to mention Savage and 40X in the same sentence, much less compare them.

Go with the 40X, put a Jewel trigger on it, and enjoy life!
