F-Class 600yd NRA Match - Grand Forks ND - Aug20th

Nodak7mm

Team Lefse
On Sat, Aug 20th in Grand Forks ND at the Forks Rifle Club, a NRA Registered 600 yard F-Class Match will be held.

Shooting to commence at 2:00pm, please try to be early (1:00pm) for registration.

3 x 20 shots @ 600. Unlimited Sighters each string....

Thats all the info I have at the moment. I will update post as I find out/verify (entry cost & sighters). Its a great facility & the match is run by good guys that try hard to ensure everybody enjoys their shooting time and a quality match is put on. If your looking to get your feet wet in competition, heres a place to go and have fun/positive experience your first time out.

PM or Email me if you have questions or in need of directions.

I tried to find a Match Program to post but can only get the info on the NRA contact listed in Shooting Sports Magazine.

colbertfclass@gmail.com per the NRA it's listed as High Power Mid Range Prone and F-Class.

I am thinking attending, but I can't close shop till noon. That puts me at the range at around 13:40. Is there any way of pre-registering ?

Tod,

I dont see any reason why not. Worse comes to worse, I can get you registered when I get there. I can call Mike or you can.

Let me know how I can help out.

If you drive past the range and not see it, keep going as I dont think you should be shooting.... LOL!! (Its that noticeable)..... Rod

Sounds like fun, but I have a NRA OTC Regional/CMP match I have to run that weekend here in Elk River, MN.
You guys need to come down for some of our matches next summer, and we will do the same for you. I love shooting at new places.

Scott,

This is my first yr at the GFK Club and first yr in any regular scheduled comp. Enjoying the heck outta it and learning something each time out...

Scott if you have the wind clinic again, count on a car full or two from here for that!! Look forwards to promoting the sport and swapping lies in the North Country.

Pretty sure I am going to make it...BUT.....My 12 year old is begging me to go. Is there any problems or rules for or against us shooting in the same relay? I would hate to turn him loose with the res-runner at 12!!!! Would need to shoot the same relay. We don't need to be next to each other, but I want to be there...just in case!!

Todd, I don't think Mike will have a problem with putting you two in the same flight. It's not a whole lot more serious than our normal league days. He does run 3 flights though. 1 shoots, 1 scores and 1 pulls vs what we normally do. Give Mike a shout and see what he has to say about it.

Todd, I agree with Brads assesment!! Jackson's 12 and dont need to be running to the Spud & Whiteys just yet!!. :o

No issues whatsoever, if we cant foster the young shooting, we have lost our real focus....

See ya on Sat!!

Well, regardless of my own shooting :( , Yesterday was a success at the Forks Rifle Club. We ran 3 relays and I think our showing was 18+ shooters. (I never counted anybody, just shots fired).

We had an international competitor, a young lady & a junior and of course a couple of old duffers that can shoot. We also had a chili feed (didn't matter it was leftovers from the preceeding Garand match, food is food) and the weather cooperated. Temps were goregeous, mid 70's. But the wind was typical ND wind, either 20mph and switching or nothing..

I made some new friends, reknewed some aquaintences and had a really good time verbally jousting with the conventional shooters next to me. It was a good day. Thanks to Mike and Gordy for putting the match on.

And Congrats out "Brad from ND" for winning Mid Range Championship in FTR and to "BSOutlaw32" for taking the Mid Range F/O Championship!! Some pretty dang good shooting guys and some seriously nice looking wood for the wall!! I think I won of of them Better luck next time coupons!!!

Sounds like fun, wished it was closer.

How'd the Ford guy do? Hope his kid gave him a lesson. ;D

The folks in Grand Forks put on a great shoot!! Drove up from DL for the first time and made it just in time for the chili feed! Lots of friendly folks and all can do some serious shooting. Had lots of fun, didn't win anything but did get a shot out scoring disc for my mediocre shooting efforts! (Thanks Rod!).
Good folks! Great place to shoot! I shall return!! EJ

Here's a couple of photos I snapped quickly before scoring on the line. It was a fun shoot and looking forward to seeing everyone next year.

Brad,

Wheres the "Hero" shot of the killer plaque you won for F/TR first place??? Congrats again!! Considering how well you shot this yr off a bipod with a tactical rig, I can only imagine you'll be kicking some serious butt next yr with your new F/O rig

I note in the second pic, the flags are in the usual position....LOL
