F-Class 223 question?

Is it restricted, required, ruled, that the 223 be a straight 223, or is a 223AI considered the same or allowable in F-Class Matches?
The rules say 223, a 223AI is a different cartridge/ chamber, thought i better ask.
Thx,
A51

The rules say "unmodified" which rules out AI most definitely in my opinion. This is for F/TR, obviously in F/O you can use any caliber up to .35.

never shot f class before but i am within driving distance of some shoots . what are the differences with stock configurations ,can you use bi-pod or front rest ? thanks mike

F/TR must be shot from a bipod or with a sling. The rifle, including bipod, cannot be more than 18.18 pounds. It must be a standard .223 or .308.

F Open may be shot from both front and rear rests. The rifle may not weigh more than 10 kilos (~22 pounds) and can be any cartridge of caliber .35 or under. The forend must be 3" wide or less. You must shoulder the rifle.

Both classes are shot prone, on the ground. Scopes are allowed in both classes.

thanks for the info sounds like i can use what i have if i can get into them prone . is bi-pod better way to go ?

sounds good thanks for the info again . think i am going to have to try this f-class when my 600yd. season ends in march.

Heres a link to the NRA Rules.....you should know that F-Class is part of High Power and that is the base of the game, you can down load these to your doc. save them and read them at your leasure.

Any bipod, meeting the definition of a bipod,
may be used but its weight must be included in the rifle’s overall weight.

From the F/TR rules. The Sinclair bipod weighs over 2 lbs which should be taken into account if you have a heavier rifle.
