Expected shelf life of FX120i

I’m thinking about taking the plunge on an auto trickler. Would buy the FX120i. Before making that kind of investment, would love to get an idea on how long I can expect the FX120i to last me in service.

Anyone have any idea or experienced?

Mine is physically 2 yrs old. I set it up once a year to load for the BR Nationals, use it for about a week. Circuit board already crapped out.
Repaired under warranty though.

3 yrs old, turned on the whole time. Perfect. Invest in a good surge protector

Mine has been plugged into a line conditioner/surge protector & scale not even turned on. Tried turning it on one day & nothing...

Mine has run for ~5 years with no problems. Generally, electronics die early (a few days) or run for a very long time (decades). It's actually better to leave them on continuously at least run them regularly because some components (especially capacitors) degrade if they're not used. I leave my FX-120i on continuously connected to a good surge protector.

Same with a good stereo, never shut it down

I've had mine on 24/7/365 for approximately 4 years. Do shut it off occasionally if I know I'm gone for an extended period or TRW's in the area. Keep my fingers crossed! Eric in DL

Liquid Crystal Display may start to deteriorate if left on continuously.
Watch for leakage around edge of display.

I've had mine for 9 years...still have an M5 if it decides to go south. I'm sure it can be repaired by A&D if need be...

Have had mine for 4 years and it has only been turned off then back on about a dozen times and most of that was because the app would not connect but other than that it runs perfectly.

I have had mine close 10 years. I have a line conditionet/ surge protector. I turn it off when not in use, it has been trouble free. Mine came with a bad cord, a phone call got me a new one. I am very happy with it.

A really long time? It's not something I'd worry about. I've had two for several years now. One of them has been turned on for about 4 years. You don't need special batteries or conditioners or surge protectors or anything of the sort. Just plug it in, let it warm up, and calibrate it every now and then. People fuss about scales way too much on these forums.

I have a FX120i 2 years with V-3 do turn off when not in use. I'll give it 5 years 4 1/2 Months.
In the past other Scales 2 year Warranty , dead 2years 3 Months or No longer Made.
I have all the Up dates to my Hobby Room, LED's Line Protector etc.

Most moden electronics don't use or need electrolytic capacitors. Electrolytic capacitors are the weak point in any device.
