I was reading about the versatility of grenade launchers with wierd modern payloads like drones and it really got me thinking about the potential uses for a shotgun.
I found the x-rep shotgun tazer shells to be an interesting concept, but what about utilizing the high-low pressure system from grenade launchers in a typical shotgun, would that not allow incredibly heavy payloads which might otherwise blow up a shotgun while also maintaining the ability to fire normal shotgun shells?
Maybe you could have a pump action with a magazine cut off and a barrel that pivots out to the side for longer payloads maybe even payloads long enough to stick out the end of the barrel.
