Exemplary Sportsmanship - That Time I Almost Injured SFC Brandon Green

Now, if you've ever attended any competitive sport, you'll know that there are some folks who can take things, and themselves, a bit too seriously. When things go wrong, or they perceive an external threat to their score, they can sometimes take it personally and lash out.
You said it brother! I have often found that the more seasoned competitors have better the attitudes. They have been on the bottom and been on the top. My favorite is when high level guys flush one down the toilet; and when you look at them they still crack you a big ol' smile (@ScottyD).

I went to a NRL22 match last weekend. I had a guy loosing his s**t about points, spotting hits, course of fire and arguing for points on every stage. This is a $20 22lr "fun match". What a clown....

I would be surprised if any of the AMU guys/girls reacted any differently, to be honest. They are the best of the best in terms of skills and sportsmanship.

I was squadded next to them for 2018's National Trophy Team match, and I was shooting directly to Sgt. Barnhart's left, with my recently replaced bolt that flung out brass like a 240. I apologized in advance for bouncing them off of the back of his coat, but he shrugged and said that's part of the game....and then the team proceeded to go set a new NTT record.

They're the best of the best, and I'm glad the sport has them. And yeah, Green is about the best rifle shooter that's ever been.

I had the pleasure to be squadded on the same relay, next point, with Brandon and the NTI this year at Perry. I had met him and shot with him at Oak Ridge a couple of times so we already causally knew each other. He’s truly a pleasure to be around and his personality is such that people around him cant be in much of a bad mood, he sees to that with his whit. Many of the AMU share the same personality traits and are enjoyable to be around while they are shooting 498-499 scores.

Brandon is a really good guy. I got a chance to be around him and a lot of the other AMU service rifle guys for quite a while. They're uniformly nice people.
I'm really glad we have them representing the Army and our country.
