Today I was on my range getting my rifles zeroed for the up coming prairie dog season. I intend to change loads on one of my 6MM BR rifles and had 10 rounds with the old load that I wanted to fire off to make way for the new load.
The rifle I want to change loads in is an old 14 twist 6mm BR Remington which has a .040 shorter case than the 6MM BR Norma which my new rifle is chambered for. The old rifle also has a tight .265 neck where my new one is an 8 twist .272 neck. Since I was shooting the new rifle and didn't want to walk to the house for the old rifle I just fired the old Remington cases in the new rifle.
That second target would have been around a 1/4 inch if I hadn't blown that shot.
Remington cases suck: Nope
Tight neck chambers shoot much better: Nope
8 Twist barrels are too fast for 65 grain bullets: Nope
These loads are also .310 off the lands because of that shorter case and the new rifle is throated for 105 AMAX bullets.
POA on the first target is the bottom right corner of the square and the second target POA is the top right corner.
