Hi,
I've been working with my new 6.5-284 and am trying to develope an accurate load to compete at Williamsport.
I have been using H4831 dispensed with a Neil Jones custom powder measure. In the past this powder thrower has been amazingly accurate, almost every charge within .2gn- and usually .1gn).
However with the H4831sc the charge weights with the same powder thrower are much more erratic when weighed- I often get variations of .3-.4gn. Since I'm trying to get into the 1000yd game, it seems to me that uniform charge,velociy-and uniform everything else!) is important. I really dread the thought of weighing every charge. It is my thought that the erratic metering is due to the large cylindrical pellets in H4831.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm going to try a friends N160 which is also suggested in Jason Baney's article on this caliber on this web site. Hope this will meter better.
Any suggestions??
Thanks!
