EOTech Holographic sights

It's been several years since I shot action 3-gun and I'm wanting to get back into it.

The problem is I used to shoot iron sights on my AR-15 and my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Although I've never used one I'm considering going to an EOTech holographic sight with the 3x magnifier on a side flip mount which should be pretty good for both close range and medium range.

Most of our local matches the longest shots are out to about 200 yards.

Do any of you have any comments, experience or advice on this system or is something else a better option?

I have the 552 on my AR. I like the AA batteries and the wide field of view compared to looking down a tube on a Aimpoint. I had a b.s mag 2.5x on mine and I sold it since I didnt like how they lined up. I never looked though the Eotech 3x. Go on AR15.com they know all the stats on this type of equipment.
