environmental factors on a bullet

Which environmental factor represents the greatist change on a bullets elevation at 1000 yards? (A) Humidity (B) Sunlight (C) Coriolis Effect or (D) Temperature. It could be more then one

Temperature effects air density and thus the trajectory of the bullet. While I have yet to see the effects of humidity, sunlight and coriolis effect, I do see elevation changes between warm and cold mornings at 1,000 yards. Altitude has a great effect for the same reason.

Temperature has the greatest effect on density altitude of any of the other factors you have listed. Humidity has little effect on trajectory. The coriolis force can easily be calculated if you know what your latitude is, the direction you are shooting and the range to your intended target.

Density altitude. Calculated by using station elevation (altitude), barometric pressure, temperature, and dew point. A Kestrel is a handy device when a first shot hit is important. Your own rifles dope and a logbook is essential.

If you shoot a 'square range'. Shoot your two sighters, dial your scope, and have fun. It's not that tough.

I shot the 600 fall match at butner a few weekends ago and the matches started at 8 am and lasted till right at 5pm. We had temps in the mid 40's in the morning and high 70's maybe low 80's that evening.

Shooting a 223 with 77 smk's I had to adjust my elevation using my sighters at every match. Temps really made a difference!

My matches were about an hour to hour and half apart. My morning elevation was over a minute different than my evening match
