In the olden days before computers and XL when we entered a match we filled our what was known as the SR-1 card which had blanks for name, address, NRA number, etc, etc, etc. It was a chore but if you wanted to receive the match results bulletin by US Mail within 30 days of the match and if you wanted your scores sent to the NRA, this had to be done. If the match director could not read your hand writing, then your SR-1 card simply went into the trash, no results bulletin and no report to the NRA for qualification and the match director saved the club the NRA fee. Not much different today, if you have poor handwriting due to the computer age and failing schools and the match director cannot read you hen scratching guess what happens.
