Guys, I understand the need to talk about the events that happened in Connecticut. I also understand how this spills over into discussions of Second Amendment Rights, Modern Parenting, Psychotropic Drugs, Video Games and so on.
But two things are clear:
1. This got out of control with no less than seven different threads dominating the main message board.
2. Unfortunately it is absolutely clear that these political threads get heated and divisive almost instantly. With these "hot button" issues, many people make statements that (deliberately or not) cause strong reactions among other readers, and soon the mud-slinging begins.
3. I will NOT allow this Forum to deteriorate into a 'Rant and Rave' zone. Nor will we tolerate threads that devolve into "shouting matches". Fact is, there are thousands of other political discussion forums on the internet where you can post political opinions (and attack those who disagree) to your heart's content.
Anyway, I've combined the threads spawned by the Connecticut events into one thread. I'll allow "reasoned and calm" posting in that thread for a while longer.
But let's get on with the regular business of this forum, and stick to discussions about accurate reloading and precision marksmanship.
It just doesn't work any other way. Time and time again, we have seen that the "hot topic" political/cultural discussions get ugly too fast.
I know that 99% of the members of this Forum do NOT want this place to become a free-for-all. If you need to throw verbal brickbats over controversial issues, do that someplace else.
