Enlightened Redneck!

Today I took a Redneck friend to my range; the kind that has one of those 10" long wallets with the chain attached to his belt and one that thinks 200 yards is long range and that the only cartridge worth using is the old 30.30! Yeah...that kind! This guy had made a comment sometime back that if anyone hit a target at 500 yards that it was just an 'acseedent'!! Well...I sat him down at the bench....put some dope on my rifle and not telling him the distance he was firing I gave some quick instructions to him concerning how to use his vision and trigger control and had him fire three shots. Had just a little left to right drift and first shot was 7" right of center; made a correction and remaining two shots went to center of the plate about 3" apart. Old boy could hear a distinctive 'whop' of the bullets hitting the plate. Stevie Ray turned to me and said..."Jist how fer is this here we're a shooting?" When I told him it was 750 yards he about dropped his eye teeth! He wanted to know how that 'knob' atop the scope 'worked'! He was shooting my 22/250 with 90 gr. Sierra bullets. A Redneck LR man....in the making!! ;D ;D

Maybe you could mount a nightforce on his 30-30 and have him shoot 30-30 accelerators at nearly 4000 fps and he can show you how its done.LOL

Guys...this fellow is 6' 6" height, age of 53, weight of 265# and NO FAT!! Works on small engines, lawn mowers, weed whackers, etc. One day a friend of ours had Stevie as a visitor in his shop! Bill walks over to his tool box and gets a new pair of channel lock pliars out and ask Steve..."How you like these....latest things out!" Stevie says...."let me see 'em!" Puts the darn things in his grip.....mashes down and he's the only guy that I've ever seen that could take ANY PAIR of same tool and break in half with just a one handed grip! Doesn't know his own strength and one helluva full-bore Redneck!! Bill looked at him with awe....and said...."Man.. :-\ ..I paid $20.00 for those damn things!" Stevie....looked somewhat shocked and said..."Well....I thought you'd bought a pair I couldn't break!"

I'm bending over holding my stomach laughing! Stevie doesn't like channel locks!! ;D :
