Endron 4955

Anyone have any good/ bad reports using Enduron 4955 in .270 , .280 or .280AI???
Just looking for thumbs up or down for replacing 4831 variants...

In my 270 Win I tried IMR 4451 with 140's and while I didn't get great accuracy it's worth a try because you might.

I worked up with IMR 4955 and the 150 gr Speer and with no warning at all I got a blown primer, not sure what happened since I was below max still, could have been a weak brass. I would work up carefully just in case though.

IMR 7977 has been my favorite so far using 150 gr Ballistic Tips at over 2900 fps and the 160 gr Partition at 2817 fps from a 23" barrel. Good speed and accuracy with a mild amount of compression. I see no reason to stop using it with 2 excellent loads.

I ran IMR4955 in my 30-06 pushing 185 jugs.
Speed was down 10fps from my H4350 load, group size went from mid 2's to mid 3's.
I did some load work in my buddies 6.5cm because its all he could find,
Pushing 143eldx at 2650 with .5" groups at 100 yards. 22" barrel

I started a similar thread on here re Imr 4955 in my .284 my results were similar to Hankpac got serious pressure signs from nowhere, I found the kernels in some of the tubs varied greatly in size, some loads ended up having a lot more 5mm long kernels others more of the dust, from other posts on other sites this depended on the batch number, I put this down as the reason for the pressure spikes in some loads.

I use it in my 6.5 creedmoor practice loads. Pushes a 147eldm @ 2750 out of a 26" barrel. SD's @ 10 and groups under 1". Works well enough that I can practice @ my match speeds without using all my match components.

I can't seem to get by IMR 4350 in my wife's Swede. I have some and will try it this Spring.

I'm using in my 6.5 PRC with 142 ABLR 3030fps good groups for me .6moa 3 shot for hunting.

I get 150 fps faster than 4831 with no pressure signs in .270. Maybe i got the good batch

I haven't had the greatest luck with it. Sometimes all of a sudden BOOM, nasty pressure signs when the previous 0.3 grain lower load was fine. Accuracy seems to be hit or miss between my rifles. Some do not get any better than 1.5" at 100.

Tried it went back to IMR 4350
More of a publicity gimmick to try new powder.
