endeavor to persevere - an inaugural 5k run for var targ ** FINALLY CROSSED THE FINISH LINE**

Rather than use a hack saw, invest in a mini chop-saw from Harbor Freight, and get a jig made for 17 Fireball (replaces the clamp) off Ebay, to cut all those suckers. Then use a trimmer of your choice from there, etc.
It's worth it, save you from getting carpel tunnel in your hands, at least helps.

^^^^^^ ditto. Well worth it for a pile like that. FYI there are various options for other cartridges as well.

;) The hacksaw mention was in jest.
I am on my third HF mini chop saw. I cobbled my own jig together that has worked perfect for my needs and will handle any 223 or fireball case including 300whisper or blackout.

After cutting the brass will be neck turned on a Fclass autodod, trimmed on a Giraud, annealed on a Giraud.

That's one hell of a big job.
Even if I had all the time in the world I would not want to do it.

Hope you have a 8.5" or 8" barrel twist for the 55 gr Berger.

With a 26" barrel,.. 2.03" coal 55, gr Berger and Win-748 you should be able to reach 3,200 fps !!

Those 55's at that speed, you can (Zero them) sight it in 2.5" high at 100 yards, which would make the highest trajectory of 3" at 150 yards and then down to -2.7" at 300 yards.

If you Zero it at 100 yards, the bullets drops 10" at 300 yards.

Just wondering out loud for a minute...
Have you ever seen one of those Dillon set ups where they run 223 into 300 BO just using their trim die/trimmer?

It seems like there is roughly the same torture for the trimmer to eat these as there would be to cut 300BO, but I could be wrong. On the other hand, if that would work... imagine just dumping brass into the hopper and running a motorized drive?

I have about 300 left to hack off. Other than the 100+ degree heat on my porch where I am set up to chop, it really is not that bad a chore. I have several presses set up for each sizing and comparator checking that work fine for me.
A Dillon would be nice, but cannot justify the expense. Also taking the necks to 20 cal. is a whole lot different than 30 cal. neck of the blackout.
This is a hobby for me not a business.

If you are looking to sell a few just before Christmas...I have a VT with 232 neck. Could use 500 more brass. ;)

Yup, when faced with bucket loads… I tend to want to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome… Sharing/splitting an Autodod makes sense if you have friends with similar needs and interests.

Project has been sidelined due to medical conditions.. Hopefully will recover soon and get back to work..

Still got a way to go in recovery, but am getting better and back at it finishing brass. Here are 1100 pcs finished, SOLD, and ready to package and ship.

Will finish more this week.
