Elmer Keith museum opened

Know that Elmer Keith is not associated with small bores, but as gun enthusiasts thought ya'll would like to know.

The Elmer Keith Museum has been opened in Boise, Idaho. Cabela's planned their new store from the beginning to house the Keith museum.

While Keith may not be appreciated by all, this museum will allow future generations to understand his life and contributions.

His extensive gun collection, worth several million dollars) and his trophies are on display. His office has been recreated including his desk and typewriter. There are audiotapes with Elmer Keith describing some of his hunts.

We owe thanks to the Ted Keith family, Al Marion, Cabela's, and the others who made this museum possible for all of us to enjoy.

Outstanding! I grew up reading "Sixguns" over and over, and handloading "Keith" bullets with my Grandpa for his .45 Colt New Service. Grandpa swore by Colts - I've still got that New Service, despite our attempts to blow it apart! :)

Every now and again I get over to Boise. Will have to take in the museum. Did you know his house came up for sale a few years ago? Keiths office still exists, pretty much as he left it from my understanding.

Regards, Guy

Idahoans are friendly. We would love to have an Englishman or two visit.

While you're here, visit Yellowstone Park, Craters of the Moon, Sun Valley, Snake River, great fly fishing), the Salmon River "River of No Return", and lots of other beautiful places.

Might even get in some good shooting.

Might find a 6x6 elk or two.
