Elisio 6bra Remington 700

Beautiful rig and looks like you will only have one problem with it,,,, no excuses.

Thanks! I really love this thing. I was hoping to talk about my findings. I have done a lot of testing with my prototype 6bra barrel.

It would be great to discuss something in the Accuate Shooter 6br forum that isn't benchest. Seems that is the only topic of conversation here for some reason. I mean that's fine and all, but...

In general, 6br Ackley is unchallenged in my book for just stupid easy to load and shoot. Its like a 6br but better. I essentially shoot what would be hot 6br loads. I don't even try to get the 6bra velocities. From my testing 2880 shoots way more consistent than 2940-2970 that everyone else is shooting. Essentially the fire forming node. "Way easy on brass 6br that stays in tune all year".

Not bad for a $235 prefit. And these aren't wallet groups. I do this pretty much every time I go out with this thing.

Following 6bra with other calibers in my testing is probably going to be a disappointment.

And that is a BONE STOCK Budsguns Remington 700 in that chassis.

I'm still getting used to all the ergonomic adjustments of the UMR and kicking myself for not doing it sooner...

Mine has a Pierce action. I like it enough that I have one being done for a PD rig and another for a XTC rig. They are still a REM 700 clone, but way more refined.

I have not played with ARComp much but have some waiting to be tested based on folks saying good things about it for 223 and 6 BR.

Do you like it better than Varget?

I do not think Varget would still be shooting the same after 100 rounds or more without cleaning.

I'm considering picking up a 6BR or 6BRA barrel from you but I have a couple questions. I have an Eliseo RTS chassis that I would like to use as my 6.5 CM barrel is about done. I mostly shoot Across the course but I also shoot mid and long range matches with a sling so keeping the magazine system working

1. What magazines are you using with your Eliseo for 6br or 6bra
2. Will the barrel nut I got from northland shooters supply for my current remage work with your barrels or would I have to buy one of your barrel nuts?
3. What do your barrels weigh?
4. Have you shot out any of your barrels yet and if so, what sort of round count did you get?

I use Magpul mags. They feed fine for me, but I have not tested them extensively like in rapids across the course.
Your barrel nut is fine.
They are a "Savage" varmint" straight taper to .87" at 26" long. I would honestly think that contour in an Elisio would be IDEAL for across the course.
I have 500 rounds on my 6bra and the lands have barely moved and it looks really pretty still, and it really shooting crazy good.
You might consider the 6xc for drop dead feeding reliability, I have those too.

My understanding this that the Wilson blanks age just as well as the big boys, they use really good steel and that is the thing that matters. Lots and lots of them shot in Service Rifle. I mean they are $235? If they go 2000 like the others then get another one :)

PS: I shoot Tubb TMS bullets and I am big believer in using them to keep the barrel shooting tip top. They really work (I think the targets tell the tale that the barrel is not ruined). I also have the break in kit.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have experience with Wilson blanks so that info is good to know.

Just got my prefit, sold to me by you, to the range today. Fired the 15 Tubbs bullets good cleaning then a shine with KG. Used 23 grains r 15 for the Tubbs the cases measured +.012 more than factory 6br with Stony Point headspace gauge. so I started with 31 g of 8208 and averaged 2950 with SMK 107 Moly. Used 29 g of 8208 to form 85 new cases but stopped because they shot so well I will use them for my next mid-range match. I have included a couple pictures of stock Remington action and fired cases and unfired cartridge. 2.388 oal and 2.830 ojive.

THAT IS SO COOL!!!! Whoo hoo!!!

Those fireforming loads really, really shoot. I really like that 2885ish node, the rifle is just happy hanging right there.

MOLY BROTHERS!

Believe it or not it does. In my UMRS in 6BR I went 1,200 rounds without cleaning. Last time out shot a national record at 600 yards. Maybe I'm just lucky but this has been the easiest rifle I have shot and maintained.

Must have been Bridgeville and you are lucky :)
