Eliseo vs Smallbore stock

I hope everyone is well. I am considering either an Eliseo based palma rifle or getting a barreled action on a v-block put into my Walther KK300 aluminum stock. I want to shoot both smallbore and palma/LR on the same stock.

Has anyone had experiences with an Eliseo based setup and a Anschutz/Walther/Grunig & Elmiger/etc type stock? Any input on the strengths and weaknesses of each system would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Funny you should ask, I just picked up an Anschutz barreled action in an Eliseo stock. In comparison, also have a Barnard Palma rifle in an Anschutz precise stock by Whidden and incrementally a regular Eliseo/Remington 300m rifle.

My advice would be get the Anschutz precise stock (or similar elite rimfire stock if you’ve already got it great!) with a rimfire (2013 in my case) barreled action and then get a vblock for your centerfire barreled action.

You will REALLY enjoy using the same stock.

Kind regards,
Greg

Many thanks for the input, Greg! Have you used your Anschutz buttplate on the Eliseo or are you running the stock rubber buttplate? It seems to me that the Eliseo offers similar adjustability to an Aluminum rimfire stock, but that the primary difference will be the buttplate and thickness of the foreend/tube (rimfire stock will be narrower than the eliseo)? What are your thoughts?

I use my KK300 and "traditional" fullbore rifle on SCATT and I find my hold is significantly smaller on the rimfire stock. What is your experience comparing your Anschutz/Barnard to the Eliseo/Rem in the real world? It seems Mr. Whidden experiences more vertical recoil on his Anschutz stock.

Am I correct that the Anschutz stock did not need any modifications besides the v-block for the Barnard? I am unfamiliar with the exact dimensions of the Anschutz stocks and unsure if the Walther KK300 will require any substantial modifications to get a centerfire action in place.

Thank you for your help, Greg. It is greatly appreciated.

Only used Gary’s buttplate on his chassis the only thing it lacks versus an Anschutz Precise chassis is the lateral (side to side) movement of the actual buttplate and the mm “click” adjustments (but you can rotate the rear and obtain basically the same relative position). The forend tube is quite a bit different in size both are comfortable but for me the Anschutz is better (narrower).

Gary’s chassis seem to recoil straight back versus up/back for the Anschutz while shooting a full recoil centerfire round. Plus one for Gary, I’ve bought (3) different chassis’ from him (still have all of them) and everyone has been about perfect.

Whidden’s vblock doesn’t require any major modifications for the Anschutz Precise stock in 2013 series actions. I believe the gentleman who won the LR rifle championship this year was a rimfire shooter using a Walther chassis and vblock for “if I remember right” a Panda action. I’ll try and find the article.

Kind regards,
Greg
