Eley match question

Ok just gonna say first I am rather new to rimfire shooting. But I found a lot of eley match that my gun really likes. I haven’t been able to find anymore of it. If I was going to buy a different lot of eley to shoot hoping to find one that shoots good would it be better to get a lot that is listed closest speed of the lot my gun likes. Or should that matter

The loading machines undergo tooling changes as required. It's not possible to guarantee that one loading machine will load better ammo than another.

What's required for excellent ammo performance is uniformity and consistency in the components and how they are put together.

Eley calculates MVs that are printed on lots or boxes by averaging the MVs across their test barrels. When selecting ammo, this figure is much less important than the most obvious one: does the ammo shoot well or not?

I also think mv matters much. To get the best performance, you need to test different lots and then use the one that performed best. I don't know the current situation, but when ammo is plentiful Kathy at Good Shooting, Inc. will sell test lots consisting of one or two boxes of five (I think) different lots. Buy a test lot, see which works best for you then buy as much as that lot as you can afford.

Part of this discussion should include IMHO what are your expectations. Course more generous expectations should be easier to achieve.

That used to be the case. That hasn’t been possible for a couple years now.
