Electronic targets Solo vs Shot Marker

Skedaddle Shooter

Gold $$ Contributor
I’m looking at electronic targets for my personal use. It looks like Silver Mt.’s Solo and Shot Marker are the best fit. Has there been a review on these two systems head to head? I haven’t found one lately. I looked at YouTube videos and it seems SM has the most reviews.
Just thought I’d ask for the group’s experience before plunking down a little under a grand.
Thanks

I went ShotMarker since that is what most of the clubs around here (San Diego) have gone with, and it's nice to be able to add-on to the club system when needed. One club has both, and they are quite similar. Consensus seems to be that ShotMarker is a bit easier to setup/use, but I don't think either one is the wrong choice.

This link is for a survey done on the systems. You can also search for shotmarker and solo or silver mountain and get more information.

I have used/tested both and like Shotmarker better based on packaging (nice carry case) the initial problems with solo have been worked out (comm to 600 yd line) so either will do the job

The advantage of SOLO is that you do not need to compete for channels with other shooters on the line. You need to coordinate with people before you turn on your Shotmarker access point.
It sounds like you have not actually used ShotMarker. Either way, there are two modes of operation, the four channel mode that you are referring to or the multi channel mode. Take a look at the ShotMarker user manual to understand thes two modes of operation.

I ordered a ShotMarker this winter after reading lots of posts here.
Still sitting on the table in the case, nothing unpacked. But with warmer weather here, its time to make the frame and hit the range.

Yes, i have and I have listened to other people on the line who spent an hour or more trying to untangle on who is on what channel or inadvertently clearing other people's screen. People want to take their data home with them and that usually means using their access point. Now, you can download your data from someone else's access point but that is a new feature.
