Electronic Target Match 1000 yards Nov 1,2 Blakely GA

All Shooters,

The AIM Rifle League is hosting a 1000 yard match on November 1 and 2 in Blakely, GA. The purpose of this match will be to demonstrate the benefits of the use of Electronic Target systems to both shooters and match officials.

This match will be a 3x20 event each day (any/any, any/any, any/iron). F Class is also invited.

Shooters will be required to score in a fairly conventional manner, but no pit duty will be required for any competitors.

Additionally, shooters will have an opportunity to compare their actual repair center from the first match on Saturday to the results displayed by the Electronic Target system. For this first match, a fresh repair center will be installed on the target for each shooter. At the end of firing of the first match, there will be a cease fire and the repair centers will be brought out of the pits for distribution to the shooters.

For more information contact Bill Walter at the AIM Rifle league website, Wayne Forshee at Stallings Machine, or myself (John Whidden) at Whidden Gunworks.

It is important that I think Bill Walter, Wayne Forshee, and Daniel Chisholm at Silver Mountain Targets for their efforts to make this match a success.

I really wished this wasn't during the Fclass National Championship. Please keep us informed of the results.

You can write (with verification) to the NRA and they will give you a medical variance.. This will allow you to shoot F-Class from a bench.. One of my friends on here "Swampshooter" (Bill Batson) just obtained just such a waiver..

I've been busier then a one arm paperhanger. If things go well today I plan on shooting at Camp Blanding's 600 yarder tomarrow. Then nextweek if not to busy and can get loads done for my .308 I'd like to make Blakley to try out those E.T. You know what they say, if you want it bad enough, you'll try harder. Port Malabar shoot in November, just a reminder to those that are tinking about it.

if i could do that i would definatley start shooting on reg basis with yall.

Just a reminder that the match is this upcoming weekend. Hope all of you can attend!

Glad to know that you're active at Cool Acres and I hope to make a match up there.

Good luck with the match and the demo. My provincial association has been running all of our matches on Silver Mountain Targets for the past year, and we quite like the system.

Swampthang,The NRA has a dept. for shooters with disabilities. You can call or e-mail them. The contact information is on the NRA web-site. They are nice people and will send you the paper work and guide you in the right direction. Of course you will need medical documentation, but with three back surgeries that shouldn't be a problem. If more shooters were aware of the options available to accommodate shooters with medical problems we would see more shooters remaining in the sport.

It was great to see familiar faces at the match. It was cold and windy but had great turnout.

It was fun experience using electronic target system

Well I'm glad some got the experience of electronic targets. I had to make a decision, go shoot and miss my 34th wedding anniversary or spend the weekend with my wife. I made the right choice. Will there be a 1000 yarder next month?
