Our shooting group has two separate electronic target systems. We have the original Silver Mountain target and then a Solo system.
Last week, shooting on both systems side by side, same guns and same ammo, there was 100 fps difference in the 600 yd chrono readings between the two systems. Guess that is to be expected as these systems are not correlated to a known standard. The numbers these systems display do not reflect actual velocity numbers, only a reference number for comparison purposes only.
It does throw a wrench into your reloading/rifle combo as you start to question what is going on with your particular combo. I had to confirm with my own Ohler that my muzzle velocity was still consistent with past chrono sessions for the load I have been using. Thank goodness the variation was in the electronic target systems and not my rifle/loads.
YMMV
