Electronic Scale

I am going to buy myself a early xmas present. I have kind of decided on Dillon D-Terminator due their no hassle warranty. Any reason not to ... 2 days till season opens.

"I have kind of" sounds tentative, as if you're not quite sure. Are you buying the warranty above all else, or does the D-Terminator truly meet your needs in a scale?

Should work for hunting larger game to 400 yds or so. For anything more serious, you will want something more accurate.

For that kind of money I would spend $20-30 more and get a GemPro 250. Here's some information on this site:

Measures down to 0.02gr as opposed to the Dillon's 0.1gr.

My Gempro 250 is waiting at the post office - based on reviews and improving my ammo accuracy.
I also have an RCBS Chargemaster, just wanted the .02 grian single kernal of powder capability.
10 & Xs not guaranteed just helps in consistency. My $.02

I thought a scale would be good for all reloading activities including small game and targets.

Go one step further and complete the entire function with an integrated powder dispenser and scale. Here's a great one: http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=rc98923

The scale can also be used independently, if only weighing is required. Reloading became fun, and not just a task, once I acquired one.

gem pro is fabulous and Ive found mine to be much more accurate than my rcbs chargemaster...
True but then it wouldn't take much to be more accurate then the chargemaster for precise measuring. I like my chargemaster but would never trust it, I use it to throw light and trickle up on a balance scale.

Wayne, You're adding to your work. You need to send it back to RCBS for a good going over to see where your distrust is coming from.

At the NBRSA Nationals, a lot of the top shooters were using one. And more of them seem to be gravitating that way too.

When I visited with Bart Sauder and Billy Stevens in Billy's trailer, they each had one set up and were using it, as is. Jerry Hensler always uses two at matches, each with a battery pack, and sealed around the cover edges to keep the elements out.

You will REALLY want to take a look at this thread before you buy !!!!!

Now I understand the difference in scales and after reading I understand some loads are wt sensitive and some are not. I also thought I might weigh cases and an electronic scale would be faster.. What would be wrong with buying Gempro off EBAY for 69.95 10 available, not trying to be cheap just trying to conserve resources. Resting dog & myself after opening weekend. Thks to all who helped in this matter

Outdoorsman,
I am sure it is plenty accurate enough for short range work, (100-300) yards but for 1000 yards I know for a fact I dropped my extreme spread and standard deviation by using a tuned balance over the charge master, also I am confident the 503 is much more accurate then the chargemaster. As you know I recently decided to try short range br out, I bough a proven 6ppc, I bought a Harrels powder drop and which ever one meaning the chargemaster or Harrels throws the fastest and most accurate will get the job, for long range my balance gets the work and soon a 503.
