Electronic Powder Scale

have three beam scales, two volumetric throwers and a few tricklers, what is a good first electronic scale?

Thanks, Bob

With some planning (asking here first's a good start) your first electronic scale ought to be your last. Maybe read this article here too:

My first was a Dillon; it died, they replaced it free. It tended to drift - badly - so I ended up giving it away. Second was a Lyman DPS 1200 Mk 1 which I still have - in the box. Too slow & a pita to clean after use. Later upgrades they made improved on the Mk 1 I understand but I chose not to go that route.

Now I use a Denver Instruments MMX-123 which works very well thanks but has been discontinued & unavailable for two, maybe three years. Add an Omega trickler & it's use is vastly more efficient.

You've heard the "buy once cry once" credo I assume? If not, take notes; it's good advice.

Get the A&D FX-120I.... It is BY FAR the best scale for the money.. You can get them from Cambridge Environmental in Canada.. They are FAST, do not drift and accurate to 0.02grs.. They run about $500.00 now depending on the Canadian / American exchange rate.. You will NOT be disappointed!

Right now, best all around choice is the A&D FX-120i. Search for it on this board for lots of rave reviews.

In stead of messing around with half of what you need why not go all out for the whole kit and caboodle:

This makes reloading fun and not a dreaded chore. :)

I had a chargemaster for a couple weeks, sent it back. Too slow, too inaccurate. It's a cheap scale hooked to a dispenser.

I am way happier with the FX-120i and my Omega power trickler. Much faster, much more accurate.

$525 at Cambridge. http://cambridgeenviro.com/productDetail.php?122g-x-0.001g-A-D-5-Year-Warranty-Top-Loading-Balance-5110

What is your purpose? Competition, Hunting, Volume loading?...
